Research Interests:

Intracellular calcium homeostasis in neuroendocrine cells and neurons.

Physiology of the adrenal and adenohipophysial gland in vitro

Proliferation and differentiation of chromaffin and adult brain stem cells

Involvement of the chromaffin cells of the adrenal gland in the pathophysiology of hypertension and stress response

Intracellular calcium signalling in ovarian follicles in response to LH and FSH in acute mice ovary slices

Projects:
Study of intracellular signaling patterns of Ca2+ initiated by GnRH in gonadotrophs of adenohypophisis slices in mouse, a multicellular preparation in vitro of a semi-intact endocrine gland.
Study of functional changes presented in the organization of striatal microcyrcuits after unilateral dopaminergic denervation and in response to substitute therapy with dopamine.
Study of functional alterations produced in the chromaffin cells of the adrenal medullae in an essential hypertension model in rat.
